BIOGRAPHY
A career built in courtrooms — from Washington to London and back.
Craig A. Platt began his legal career after graduating from Stanford Law School. Early in his career, he worked at a boutique corporate law firm in downtown Seattle, but quickly realized that his real calling was not representing large corporate interests. He wanted to help people facing urgent, personal legal problems.
Craig later traveled to London, England, where he worked alongside barristers and solicitors and gained exposure to some of the world’s most respected legal venues, including the Old Bailey and the Royal Courts of Justice. That experience helped shape his courtroom instincts and deepened his appreciation for careful preparation, strategy, and advocacy.
After returning to Washington, Craig put his experience to work as a public defender. He became known for his tenacity, creative defense strategies, and willingness to take on difficult cases. He also taught trial techniques to other lawyers, sharing practical courtroom skills developed through years of litigation.
Craig later served as Chief Prosecutor in Saipan, where he handled international investigations, prosecuted government corruption matters, and taught criminal procedure and constitutional law at the Police Academy. Today, as Managing Partner of Platt, Thompson & Buescher, Craig brings that broad background to clients facing criminal defense, DUI, and related legal matters in Island County.
